A redescription of the Indo-West Pacific Spirobranchus corrugatus Straughan, 1967 (Serpulidae, Polychaeta), and an alternative hypothesis on the nature of a group of Middle Miocene microfossils from Poland Naturalis
Hove, Harry A. ten; Nishi, Eijiroh.
Spirobranchus corrugatus, a little known species, is redescribed based on ample material from Australia, Indonesia, Japan and the Seychelles. The species is characterized by a seemingly porous tube, sunk into the substrate. Characteristically, the opercular plate shows a number of radial ridges on its distal surface, resembling Middle Miocene microfossils from Poland. The ventral rim of the opercular bulb of Sp. corrugatus bears numerous ocelli, with single lenses. A comparison with similar species is given.

Description of Hydroides bulbosus sp. nov. (Polychaeta, Serpulidae), from the Iranian Gulf, with a terminology for opercula of Hydroides Naturalis
Hove, Harry A. ten.
A description of Hydroides bulbosus sp. nov. (Polychaeta, Serpulidae), from the Gulf of Iran, may serve as a standard for future descriptions in the genus. A comparison with probably related species, H. albiceps, H. steinitzi and H. trivesiculosus, is given. A standard terminology for opercular structures in the genus is proposed.

Notes on Hydroides elegans (Haswell, 1883) and Mercierella enigmatica Fauvel, 1923, alien serpulid Polychaetes introduced into the Netherlands Naturalis
Hove, Harry A. ten.
The occurrence of Hydroides elegans in Dutch waters is observed for the first time. Differences with H. norvegica are discussed. Possible ways of introduction of H. elegans and Mercierella enigmatica are discussed.

On a new species of Salmacina Claparède, 1870 (Polychaeta: Serpulidae) from São Paulo State, Brazil Naturalis
Matos Nogueira, João Miguel de; Hove, Harry A. ten.
A new species of Salmacina Claparède, 1870, herein described, was found in dense aggregations on the coral Mussismilia hispida (Verrill, 1868). Salmacina ceciliae n. sp. is characterised by rounded enlarged cells located subdistally on the radioles, distally on the pinnulae, and, in most of the specimens, many eyespots are present in the distal third of radioles and pinnulae. Comparisons between S. ceciliae and the other species of the genus are provided.

Revision of Hydroides Gunnerus, 1768 (Polychaeta: Serpulidae) from the Eastern Pacific region and Hawaii Naturalis
Bastida-Zavala, J. Rolando; Hove, Harry A. ten.
A taxonomic revision of the Hydroides species (Polychaeta: Serpulidae) from the Eastern Pacific Ocean is presented. Twentyone taxa are described, of which two are widespread (H. diramphus Mörch, 1863 and H. elegans (Haswell, 1883)) and four are Amphiamerican (H. alatalateralis (Jones, 1962), H. gairacensis Augener, 1934, H. salazarvallejoi Bastida-Zavala & Ten Hove, 2003, and H. sanctaecrucis Kroyer [in] Mörch, 1863). Three species are new to science: Hydroides deleoni n. sp., H. panamensis n. sp. and H. trompi n. sp. Morphometric comparisons between H. brachyacanthus Rioja, 1941, H. deleoni n. sp., and H. similis (Treadwell, 1929), between H. chilensis Hartmann-Schröder, 1962, H. cruciger Mörch, 1863 and H. panamensis n. sp., and between H....

Revision of Hydroides Gunnerus, 1768 (Polychaeta: Serpulidae) from the Western Atlantic region Naturalis
Rolando Bastida-Zavala, J.; Hove, Harry A. ten.
A taxonomic revision of the Hydroides species (Polychaeta: Serpulidae) from the Western Atlantic Region is presented. Twenty-six taxa are described, including a comparison between four species with ‘winged’ verticil spines: Hydroides alatalateralis, H. elegantulus, H. floridanus and H. spongicola, between two forms of the H. mongeslopezi complex, and between two forms of the H. brachyacanthus complex. Three widespread species are recorded: H. dianthus, H. diramphus and H. elegans. Five new forms are recorded, including one with 7-9 thoracic chaetigers. Three species are newly described: H. lambecki n. sp., H. similoides n. sp. and H. salazarvallejoi n. sp. Seven specific names are placed into synonymy: H. abbreviatus Krøyer [in] Mörch, H. benzoni Mörch, H....
